McCarty Development Scales – subtest Visual Memory
Test code MOS-M. This test aimes at very young children (3-7 years). This test is computerized as part of a research project into bilingualism and integration of immigrant children. Subtest Visual Memory simultaneously presents six pictures of simple objects on the screen, which remain visible for a certain time (duration is adjustable, but standard duration is 10 s). During this time the test leader mentions the objects once while pointing at them (BUTTON, FORK, PAPERCLIP, HORSE, LOCK, PENCIL). This is followed by a “blank” screen and then the child has to mention as many objects from memory within a certain time (90 seconds, but adjustable). Finally a scoring sheet is displayed where the experimenter can score the child’s responses.
